MEET THE STAFF
Kate
President & CEO
Kate is a graduate of Central Michigan University who has called Central Michigan home since 2001. She has been with Life Choices since 2015. She stepped into her role as President in January of 2018. She loves building relationships in the community with our new and current donors, other community organizations, and reaching out to those who may need our services. When Kate isn’t working, she’s baking for her family.
Liz
Chief Operating Officer
Liz joined the staff of Life Choices of Central Michigan in 2022. She has many years of experience in property management. She is most excited about being a part of the team that helps individuals face their challenges and be empowered to move forward in positive ways. Liz and her family live in Weidman and love enjoying camping adventures together.
Candy Catlin
Administrative and Program Assistant
Candy is passionate about serving people – especially families. Before joining the staff team, she served in a long-term volunteer position on our team. She has also had work experience in several local dental offices. When Candy is not working, she and her husband Kevin enjoy their home on a lake in central Michigan and time with their kids and grandkids.
Terri
Director of Parenting Programs & Volunteer Coordination
Terri’s degree is in marketing from Western Michigan University. Terri taught preschool for 16 years. When she and her husband, “retired” to their north lake home, Terri got connected to Life Choices. She is kind and compassionate and ready to serve not only little people but also their parents as they learn more about building a productive family. Terri is also the initial contact for those who would like to learn more about volunteer opportunities at Life Choices.
Sophia
Director of Sexual Risk Avoidance Programs
Sophia is a BSN RN who has most recently worked as a school nurse here in Central Michigan. She is excited to serve students in classrooms across Central Michigan with a prevention message that will empower them and encourage them to make healthy life choices through Life Choices Sexual Risk Avoidance Program. When Sophia is not working, you will find her and her husband enjoying walks with their dog, Thor.
Mary Jean
Clinic RN
Mary Jean joined the Life Choices team in the late fall of 2022. She has been a nurse for about two decades and loves encouraging and caring for her patients. She and her kids call Mt. Pleasant home and stay busy with lots of fun activities like dance and cheer.
Ken
SHARE Instructor
Ken retired once from serving the community by training paramedics. He joined the Life Choices team shortly after “retirement”. He is a great teacher who has loved the chance to empower students through the SHARE program. He and his wife have twins who are soon to be high school graduates.
